In 1996, HICARE received the Health Service Award (sponsored by the Daiichi Mutual Life Insurance Company), the most prestigious award in the field of health services in Japan. HICARE, using the supplementary prize as funds, was equipped with radiation counters and radioactive mineral specimens. HICARE lends out these radiation counters to other organizations.
