Some Comments by Dr. Chhem:
"We attach a lot of importance to the Practical Agreements between
HICARE and the IAEA and I have established very good channels of communication
with the people involved in HICARE this time."
"I visited many institutions affiliated with HICARE and I was impressed
with the fact that they have continued research on radation effects such
as collection and analysis of numerous data since the Atomic-bombing. For
instance, Hiroshima University Hospital has established a superior radiation
emergency preparedness system.
Visiting the nursing home for the A-bomb survivors (Kurakake Nozomi-en),
made me recognize the significance of humantouch which many scientists tend to be lacking in. I was also honored to attend
the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Ceremony, and this was also impressive for
me personaly.
Together with HICARE, we would like to make our utmost contribution to
the health care for the radiation-exposed people in the world."
