Impressions:

I am a member of “Mongolian Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War.” The organization was founded in 2004. On June 21, 22 of 2006 the “International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War” conference took place in Ulan Bator. We are currently tackling issues with regards to becoming a nuclear weapon-free zone. Western Mongolia is located near both China’s Lop Nor as well as Kazakhstan’s Semipalatinsk region. There is more than likely radioactive contamination present. Although we have not yet conducted an on-scene investigation, we have begun survey activities and are planning dosimetry analysis of soil in the region.

I was able to learn a lot about the effects of radiation through this training. I would like to express my thanks to HICARE, the wonderful organization to provided me this opportunity. I felt most warmly welcomed. I would like to apply what I learned to the future job in my country.
