Feedback:

[Dr. Tanaka]
This training was very beneficial in many aspects, exceeding my expectations. I found that what is important in treatment of A-bomb victims and other radiation-exposure victims is to understand that they do not want to receive special treatment because they do not think they are special but just patients like other people.
In terms of prevention, the ways to inhibit diseases vary depending on the types of diseases and furthermore, preventing individuals from exposure to radiation is very difficult. However, I think that there is little difference in treatment.
I had considered the tragedy occurred in Hiroshima as somebody else's concerns. However, I was impressed by knowing Hiroshima citizens' efforts to eliminate nuclear weapons to prevent the occurrence of another nuclear tragedy.
I will never forget the valuable experience in Hiroshima University Hospital that positively accepts doctors from overseas. Distinguished doctors in the hospital showed me the medical treatment actually conducted in a university hospital in a developed country.
Visiting the country of my grandparents and experiencing its culture were a very special event for me personally.

[Dr. Yamnouchi]
In this training, I was able to have a very important experience. I am most grateful to HICARE for giving us the opportunity to participate in this training.
I had placed importance on medical treatment when I treated A-bomb survivors in my work in Brazil. Through this training, I have learned about radiation itself. In a program to learn about the prevention of diseases and health enhancement, I was able to know that administrative bodies play important roles in Japan.
I would like to express my gratitude for giving me the special opportunity to study at Hiroshima University Hospital, where I saw various cutting-edge technologies concerning health care.
In addition, thanks to HICARE, I was able to learn about the history of people in Hiroshima, who have overcome the tragedy and rebuilt their city. They always remember the day of August 6, shared pains, and made every effort to prevent another A-bomb tragedy from occurring.
People who visit Hiroshima and know what HICARE is doing would not be able to help but spread the message of Hiroshima and HICARE around the world. I also will bring back this message to Brazil.
